Roger Norris runs a business, not a charity, but it’s hard to be unsympathetic when a desperate horse owner is on the phone.


Norris, who boards horses and runs trail rides, has taken in four horses in the past two months.


Recently a woman wanted to give him all five of her horses, including two thoroughbreds.

We were informed that the Sundre RCMP took the head of the filly to a local Vet. The Vet xrayed it and found no bullet, hence they could not conclude that she was shot. What then caused the mysterious round shaped hole in her head?


Rescue surrenders all horses

All horses were removed from Flying Ah Ranch near Jefferson by Jan. 15, Park County Sheriff’s Office personnel announced in a recent press release.


A total of 35 horses were voluntarily surrendered by ranch president Carol Martin after Park County Animal Control officers investigated allegations of animal neglect.

The number of abused and abandoned horses is growing in Sonoma County, and local officials say the poor economy is partly to blame.

Animal league gets horse aid

AN ANIMAL-LOVING nine-year-old held a solitary protest outside the farm where 32 horses were found dead.


Katy Roberts was so upset by the gruesome discovery at Spindles Farm Heath, Chalk Lane, Hyde Heath that she stood outside with a sign reading "This Is Hell Farm".

Six starving horses recovering; authorities search for responsible party

Lawton Stephens County Deputies found some severely malnourished horses on property just off of Old Highway 7 in Stephens County.  Stephens County Sheriff, veterinarians and the Stephens County Humane Society found two dead horses and six others that appeared to be neglected and severely emaciated.  It appears that whoever once lived on the property abandoned the animals and left them

ORIOLE - A criminal investigation into possible animal neglect and cruelty is under way after four allegedly malnourished horses were found and later removed Wednesday from property along Owen Lane near Oriole.


A fifth horse had already died, a county sheriff’s deputy said, and was buried.
